The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur on Current 2/16/12

Postby keithaddict » Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:19 am

Segment 1 - Cenk reveals a newspaper story from 1990 revealing Rick Santorum's moderate or self-described "progressive conservative" views. Then, Cenk shares numbers from Rick's recently released tax returns, and ends with comments about Rick's 1990 moderate positions on energy, labor, and abortion.

Segment 2 - Cenk shares information from a recent information leak about the war in Afghanistan from high-ranking military official, then interview's Rolling Stone's Michael Hastings about this news and its lack of coverage in the mainstream press.

Segment 3 - Cenk slams Mitt Romney for his position on Obama's auto bailout, explains the policy of why the government hasn't been paid back in full yet for the bailout but it will be, and discusses the auto industry bailout and loan with Ben Klayman of Reuters.

Segment 4 - Cenk hosts the POWER Panel with progressive Cliff Schecter and conservative Katie Pavlich; they discuss whether the red states are the real welfare queen, which Cenk presents a study to attest to.

Segment 5 - Ana Kasparian talks to David Englin, a member of Virginia’s house of delegates, about a new bill that would require women to receive an invasive ultrasound before having an abortion, even in their first trimester — when it is not medically necessary.

Segment 6 - This segment was basically a really short version of this web extra.
"Debating [Brooklyn] Billy is a bit like pissing in the wind-sure you can technically do it...but what's the point?" - Philbert

"I take my role as a troll very seriously, a good part of that job is to be irritating." - Brooklyn Billy
