It seems a little inappropriate that the US army should be running the show entirely - it's certain that they execute their orders well, but as we saw in Iraq, humanitarian nation-rebuilding peace-keepy stuff isn't quite their forte.
Its a mad idea, but to you think the Army could be put to better use if they were following orders from aid agencies? I think they'd have a better idea of what needs to be done for the people. There's no way in hell that anyone can argue that Haiti's biggest problem right now is security...
Also, what kind of a footprint (if any) are contractors putting down in Haiti at the moment?
