Blogging Countdown 12/6 #1: A Christmas Story Returns

Postby Trekkie » Wed Dec 06, 2006 10:38 am

The old film "A Christmas Story" gains new life as a pitch for Cingular Wireless, plus the house used in the film has been bought by a fan and converted into a museum celebrating the cult classic.

Brian Jones (the new owner of the house) joins Keith.

I'm tempted to some weekend trying to talk the hubby into taking the Four hour trip North and checking the place out. [smilie=redcolorz3_pdt_02.gif]

Aunt Clara had for years not only perpetually labored under the delusion that I was 4 years old, but also a girl.

I love this movie too. It hasn't felt like Christmas until I see A Christmas Story. My kids can quote it verbatim.
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
-John Kenneth Galbraith

A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs, who, however, has never learned to walk forward.
-Franklin D. Roosevelt

I just gave my son a "You'll shoot yer eye out kid!!" T-shirt. My soon-to-be 5 year old granddaughter absolutely loves that movie. :monk

I've never seen it either. I'm feeling so culturally deprived! Must rent!

I first saw it in my cathechism class when I was 10, and have liked this movie ever since.

Rather, it will belong to those who can blend passion, reason and courage in a personal commitment to the great enterprises and ideals of American society."~Robert F. Kennedy

It is *so* frickin' cute when he acts like a fanboy.

Could somebody put the story on YouTube?

Postby klondike_ike » Thu Dec 07, 2006 5:54 pm

Help! I tried to record the "Christmas Story" segment from last night, but my awful cable company decided to run a long test of the Emergency Broadcast System right then. Grrrr....

If anyone taped it, please post it on Youtube (or anywhere on the web) so the rest of us can enjoy it.

Thanks in advance, friends. :)

I'm in the minority-I've never been crazy about that movie. I always preferred Christmas Vacation.
